New Flash Player 9 Beta brings increased performance, rendering quality

Tinic recently announced the availability of Flash Player Update 3 Beta 1 (9.0.60.120) for download on Adobe Labs.

The focus on this version of the Flash Player is on performance and rendering quality. The key new features are mip map support, hardware-scaling for full-screen mode, and multi-threaded vector rendering, bitmap rendering and video decoding.

What do these features mean? For one thing, it means that PaperVision3D should look better and run better. It should also lead to more developers using bitmap scaling in their applications and utilizing full-screen mode.
